Grosse Ile MI – Sloping Floor Repair with Correct Force Jacks
This homeowner contacted Foundation Restoration because she could feel the floor sloping. Upon inspection, tipping blocks on soil with no footing and scrap wood chunks with spacers were found under the problem area. She had other companies out that tried to sell her every single item that they offer for crawlspaces with no other options to repair her complaint area alone.
If you live in Grosse Ile, you know that most of the houses are older. We’ve done a lot of projects on Grosse Ile to combat sloping floors from homes that are starting to show their age, especially over crawlspaces. Damage to your home’s floor system will significantly impact the living space above. Many floor systems have inadequate support. In addition, mold, rot, and water issues can also compromise the floors that support your home.
When we arrived, we had a conversation about different items that we offer that would benefit her situation but she advised her budget would only allow the structure repair portion. We explained that we are happy to complete only the structure repair per her request and we did just that.

To fix the problem area, we used our Correct Force Jacks as our main support. Correct Force Support Jacks are used to level and stabilize existing support beams and floor joists while creating minimal disturbance to the crawlspace and surrounding property. These were placed along new footings containing new steel beams. This was meant to correct old cinder blocks and scrap wood that somebody had attempted to use in the past to support the home
In the end, we reached the desired result and were able to stay within the budget of the homeowner. If you think you may have an issue with the crawlspace of your home give us a call at 877-MAKE-DRY for a free estimate or fill out our contact form and we’ll come take a look at no charge to you.
